Drusilla Missouri Dunbar Heslin (1848-1912) came to Oregon as a young girl. She traveled the Oregon trail in 1850 with her parents, three siblings and several relatives.

The Heslin House was purchased by the City of Fairview from the last surviving family member in 1992.
The historic Zimmerman House was built in 1874 and was home to three generations of the Zimmerman Family. Their furnishings and personal articles remain in this two-story Victorian home.
Lael has been a member of the FRWHS since 1991 with about 15 of those years serving on the Board. She has lived in Fairview for about 22 years. When asked what her favorite job would be if she could work on only one job in the Society Lael answered “working in the garden at Heslin House”.
